Getting to Pleasant Prairie
Located just over the Wisconsin/Illinois border, Pleasant Prairie is an easy drive from Chicago and Milwaukee.
Conveniently located between Chicago and Milwaukee, beautiful Pleasant Prairie makes getting away from your daily grind easier than you might think. Escape the hustle and bustle of city life by joining us where the grass really is greener!
The vast majority of Pleasant Prairie is south of Highway 50 and north of the Illinois border - a mere 20 minutes from Gurnee, IL (and Six Flags Great America!). While you can’t see Lake Michigan from everywhere in the Village, it’s there, waiting for you just a short 15-minute drive from I-94.
If you are traveling from Milwaukee, or General Mitchell International Airport (MKE), driving directions couldn’t be simpler. It’s just a straight shot south on I-94 East. Look for Exit 345 and continue to Wilmot Road. You’ll find yourself driving on 104th Avenue in Pleasant Prairie in no time. While HWY 50 expansion is taking place, this a great alternative to heading into the Shoppes at Prairie Ridge and avoiding delays.
You’ll find it’s just as easy to make the trek from Chicago. Escape urban gridlock by hopping on I-94 West, heading north. Exit at Hwy 165 and head east to enjoy the outdoors - and great discount shopping at the Pleasant Prairie Premium Outlet Mall. For those of you joining us for sporting events, or a little outdoor recreation, continuing east on HWY 165 will take you past the RecPlex and straight to Sheridan Road. It’s that simple. If you’ve just arrived at O’Hare International Airport (ORD), be sure to keep in mind that you’ll need to bring along toll money or your iPass for the Illinois tolls.
Fancy the scenic route? Take Sheridan Road from either Kenosha or Chicago. Traveling from Illinois along the lakeshore, you will pass Waukegan Harbor and Illinois Beach State Park. Coming from the north, you’ll pass the Kenosha Sand Dunes. Give yourself time to explore and take in all the sights while you’re in the area.
Whether you are interested in the outdoors, great eateries, or fun activities for the whole family, Pleasant Prairie is always worth the trip.
