Lake Andrea
Pleasant Prairie's natural spring water lake offers relaxation and fun in all seasons.
Located in Prairie Springs Park, surrounded by a 2.3 mile walking path, spring-fed Lake Andrea is part of the impressive athletic facilities at the Pleasant Prairie RecPlex. Open year-round to the public from dusk to dawn, it’s a fun spot to visit year-round. Whether it's ice fishing in the winter months or soaking up the sunshine during the summer; there's something for everyone at Lake Andrea!
Quick Facts
- The beach at Lake Andrea opens in June each year, and the season lasts through Labor Day.
- Be sure to visit the RecPlex website for up-to-date information on hours of operation as special events may affect opening or closing times. You may also contact the RecPlex front desk at 262-947-0437, or the beach line at 262-947-0704, for current status.
- Hourly canoe, kayak, and paddleboard rentals are available through Froggy’s Landing Boat Rentals during the summer season.
- To access the beach and windsurfing launches at picnic sites you must purchase a beach pass if you are not a RecPlex member. Day beach passes are available for $8 per day, or season passes are $80 per family. Pleasant Prairie residents receive free entry with a valid ID. Rates are subject to change. Please check the RecPlex website for the most up-to-date beach pass pricing.
- During the season, Lake Andrea beach and Froggy's Landing hours of operation can be viewed here but may close early due to inclement weather or when the air temperature does not reach 70 degrees by Noon.
- Steps from the beach are indoor and outdoor event spaces available for rent year-round.
- The free public boat launch site is available year-round. Please note that motors larger than an electric trolling motor are not permitted on the lake. A DNR watercraft license is needed. Additional details about boating ordinances for this lake can be viewed here.

Beach & Swimming
Whether you want to practice your backstroke or just enjoy the view from the sand, the beach at Lake Andrea is sure to be one of your favorite spots in Pleasant Prairie. If you’re looking for land-based fun, the sand volleyball pits may strike your fancy. The kids can build a sandcastle while you relax with a good book. Why not take a refreshing dip in Lake Andrea’s warm waters?
FISHING
Anglers of all ages and levels love fishing the beautiful waters of Lake Andrea in both summer and winter seasons. Don’t put off that long-overdue fishing trip any longer. Grab your canoe, your best fishing buddy, or your family for a fun day on the lake. Pleasant Prairie locals love fishing Lake Andrea since it is easy to fish and highly accessible. Prefer to stay on land? You can also fish the shoreline. Walleye, panfish, northern, and bass are surely biting so head on out. Catch a whopper and some great memories on Lake Andrea!
PADDLEBOARDING, WINDSURFING, AND BOATING
Lake Andrea is home to some of the best water adventures in Pleasant Prairie. You’re welcome to bring your own paddleboard, windsurfing equipment, or small watercraft. If you need to rent, Froggy’s Landing has got you covered. Rent one of their kayaks, canoes, or paddleboards, for just a few hours or for the whole day. Plan for fun, fishing, fitness, or a combination of everything while on the lake. If you’re planning to rent multiple times, you can purchase five and 10-pack rental punch cards. The first recreational watercraft sets out on Lake Andrea at 10 a.m. and the last one leaves the shore by 5 p.m. daily. Check with RecPlex for specific rates and details.
