Prairie Springs Park
Everything you need for recreational fun can be found at this Pleasant Prairie spot, a favorite among locals and visitors.
Prairie Springs Park, for example, is no ordinary park. With over 900 acres, it’s the perfect combination of idyllic Midwestern scenery mixed with hiking trails and an irresistible spring-fed lake, as well as indoor and outdoor recreation opportunities. A park like no other, it is a destination to be experienced firsthand.
Outdoor Activities
You truly won’t find a better spot for swimming, kayaking, or lake fishing. Take advantage of the three sand volleyball pits and assorted sports fields. With green open spaces, Prairie Springs Park is also the place to fly a kite or kick a ball with your little ones. Your kiddos will be happy to know there are also two playgrounds. Yes, there really is something for all types of outdoorsy visitors!
Trails
Prairie Springs Park is also rich with bicycle and pedestrian trails, making it the ideal place to exercise as a family or train for your next marathon. Lake Andrea
The central attraction of Prairie Springs Park is the sparkling waters of Lake Andrea. Lake Andrea is 110 acres and it’s the ideal locale for swimming, kayaking, fishing, and even windsurfing. To keep the waters clear and beautiful, gas-powered and anchored vehicles are not allowed by the public. In fact, Lake Andrea’s tranquil waters are used for the swimming portion of several triathlons. Or, consider launching a watercraft from Froggy’s Landing! Open seasonally, it's the spot to rent paddleboards, canoes, and kayaks by the hour.
The shores of Lake Andrea also offer sandy beaches. So make a date to sunbathe, enjoy a picnic, or build a sandcastle on her picturesque shores. On the upper north side of Lake Andrea there is a dedicated dog beach so it's always a PAW-some time in that area. Specific picnic areas are available to rent for your next family gathering or employee picnic, including the Wruck Beach Pavilion which is an enclosed space that can accommodate up to 72 people and is available to rent year-round.

Indoor Activities
Your options aren’t limited to the outdoors. Prairie Springs Park is adjacent to the RecPlex, the largest municipally-owned recreation facility in the country. Here you can enjoy an Olympic-sized swimming pool, two NHL-sized ice rinks, and a state-of-the-art fitness center. There are also eight multi-use courts ready to be utilized.
